Have you ever been keen or curious to experience dance classes at your own pace?  Or perhaps you would like to re-ignite a previous passion for movement and expression that was previously an important part of your life.

The creative movement class will draw on a range of dance styles and techniques which have been specifically adapted for those with movement and balance concerns as a result of Parkinson’s, MS, Stroke, Arthritis, or reduced mobility.

The classes are a fun and challenging way to inspire confidence and boost your coordination, memory and imagination. They’re also an opportunity to boost social engagement, and mental and physical health.

The one hour-long sessions will be led by experienced teaching and performing artist, Lisa Lanzi. Lisa is a Ruby Award-winning Community Arts specialist, former professional dancer, and working actor/director/creator.  She has taught classes for older adults all over Adelaide, in many different settings.

No matter your fitness level, Lisa’s creative movement classes are adapted for all, no matter your experience or mobility concerns; seated and standing options will be demonstrated. Lisa’s classes are endorphin-releasing fun, and a challenging, unique way to inspire confidence and boost coordination, memory, and imagination.

Lisa lives with disability and understands that some people may need support to attend classes.  A family member, friend, or support person is encouraged to participate with you for free – please discuss your needs with the teachers or Adelaide Theatre Academy staff.

 

Elder Dance Classes will commence on Wednesday May 1st, 2024 and run for 9 weeks at Theatre Bugs Hall.

10.45am – 11.45am

(cuppa-tea 11:45am – 12.00pm)

$135 for the 9 week term (May 1st – Jun 26th)
